Introducing BSR, a revolutionary towel rack designed by Chien Yu-Chieh and Li Kai-Chu. This innovative design goes beyond the conventional towel rack, offering a range of unique features that enhance the functionality and cleanliness of your bathroom.
BSR is a wall-mounted towel rack that not only provides a convenient place to hang your towels but also purifies and sterilizes them. With the use of UV-C light, BSR effectively eliminates germs and slows down the growth of mold, ensuring that your towels are fresh and hygienic.
One of the standout features of BSR is its swingable hanger. This design allows for increased airflow in the space, enabling your towels to dry quickly and reducing the risk of dampness and odor. The intelligent control interface of BSR allows you to adjust the air volume and power of the UV-C light, ensuring efficient drying and sterilization of your bathroom.
BSR utilizes a micro-turbine to introduce and purify the air, enhancing the drying process. The air duct, which also serves as the towel-hanging mechanism, directs the airflow to the sides and then discharges it from the air outlet. This innovative design ensures that the entire space is well-ventilated, preventing the buildup of moisture and the growth of bacteria.
When it comes to specifications, BSR features a single-side hanger measuring 55cm and a middle core main unit with a diameter of 9cm. The total length after assembly is approximately 119cm. Additionally, the modular hanger design allows for easy transportation and cleaning.
BSR is not only functional but also user-friendly. The interface of BSR can be easily operated by sliding it to activate the towel rack. The purification and sterilization intensity can be adjusted according to your preference. The swingable hanger can be used separately on both sides, providing flexibility and convenience. For added convenience, BSR can be controlled through an app on your mobile phone.
During the design process, the team faced challenges in ensuring the durability and functionality of the swingable hanger. Through collaboration with experts in electromechanical structures, the hanger was modified to separate from the rack and rotate, addressing issues related to heat dissipation and increasing towel hanging space.
The BSR project started in July 2022 and underwent continuous refinement and modification in collaboration with HITACHI. The prototype was made in November 2022, with further adjustments made earlier this year. The production discussions and processes were carried out in Taiwan.
BSR is a testament to the designers' extensive research and understanding of the challenges faced in bathroom environments. The high humidity and poor ventilation often lead to the growth of bacteria and unpleasant odors. Additionally, towels made of cotton are prone to bacterial growth. BSR addresses these issues by providing a comprehensive solution that ensures a clean and hygienic bathroom space.
The innovative design of BSR has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is a testament to the practicality, innovation, and professional standards upheld by BSR.
With BSR, you can transform your bathroom into a cleaner and healthier space. Say goodbye to damp towels and unpleasant odors, and embrace the convenience and functionality of this groundbreaking towel rack.
